Construction of the Six-Gen Fountain in Kashgari Murtaza Efendi Mosque
Location
Eyupsultan - Istanbul
The Six-Gen Fountain Construction project we carried out in the Kashgari Murtaza Efendi Mosque, which makes a significant contribution to the historical texture of Istanbul, is an important project that strengthens the functional and aesthetic structure of the mosque. The fountain was designed and built in accordance with both the historical identity and the purpose of use of the mosque.
In this project, the hexagonal fountain placed in the courtyard of the mosque was built in harmony with the elegant details of traditional Ottoman architecture. While adding aesthetic value to the space visually, a functional area was created where the mosque congregation could perform ablution. The materials and workmanship used during the construction phase were carefully selected, remaining faithful to the original structure of the mosque.
Beyond being an area used only for ablution, the Six-Gen Fountain also increased the religious and social functionality of the mosque and achieved an aesthetic harmony with the surrounding structures. With this project, the historical and cultural heritage of the Kashgari Murtaza Efendi Mosque was strengthened, and a space suitable for modern needs was offered to both visitors and the congregation.
This restoration work has preserved the historical values of the Kashgari Murtaza Efendi Mosque, contributed to its transfer to the future, and added an important touch to the architectural integrity of the mosque.
